Group News-HBIS Group-Being The Most Competitive Steel Enterprise

HBIS Chairman Met Siemens Chairman, President, CEO Roland Busch

June 13, HBIS Chairman Yu Yong met Siemens Chairman, President and CEO, Dr.Roland Busch and agreed to deepen both strategic cooperation and implement their intelligent, digitized and green steel projects. HBIS Vice President Li Yiren, Siemens Director, Siemens Digitized Industry Group CEO Cedrik Neike, Siemens China Chairman, President, CEO Xiao Song also attended the meeting.

Yu Yong said Criteria of HBIS choose a partner was not only satisfying productiong but also because of technological and innovation capabilities, and the two sides can achieve common growth in future cooperation. Siemens is an important partner of HBIS, providing ever improving products, technologies and solutions, giving great support to the development of HBIS. Since the signature of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation in 2016, the cooperation between the two sides has changed from the original steel business to digital intelligence, additive manufacturing and other fields, entering a new stage of multi-field cooperation.

Yu Yong said Siemens owned globalized digital and intelligent manufacturing technologies that highly match the Chinese economic development and the reform of Chinese industrial structures. When the structure of an economy reforms, its manufacturing sector needs corresponding changes. In the high quality development phase of Chinese economy, the country is pursing a supply side reform that needs high end, intelligent and green manufacturing sector. To HBIS and even Chinese steel industry, we need to produce high end materials to meet high demands. In this process, Siemens digital technologies and intelligent manufacturing technologies could provide strong support to HBIS.

Yu Yong said any technology and innovation should present its value to its clients and the partnership of HBIS and Siemens has showed that value such as in the first Unmanned & automatic stockyard in Chinese steel industry in HBIS New Tangsteel project.Siemens digital technology is transferring a huge and complex stockyard to a closed and 100% unmanned one. HBIS demands give Siemens digital technology opportunities to be implemented to actual industrial applications and make their values. From macro to micro, the manufacturing is reforming and from steel products, HBIS is extending to other materials and their further processing. The leading Siemens digital technologies are assisting HBIS to be more efficient, higher control precision, better quality and more personalized products to clients. HBIS and Siemens share similar concepts over digital technologies and their applications and their cooperation in applications and innovations are making great value to both companies.

Yu Yong said Chinese enterprise pay high attention on ESG management systems and there need strong supports to make efforts in environment, social responsibilities by digital technology and intelligent manufacturing technology. Especially in the efforts of carbon peaking and neutralization and reform of energy consumption, digital technologies are providing great assistance.Similarly, in the process of high-quality development of China's steel industry, the pursuit of product quality and customers' demand for new materials, Siemens digital technology and intelligent manufacturing technology can provide great support, but also have a huge commercial market. HBIS and Siemens will deepen their strategic cooperation in digital technologies, intelligent manufacturing and ESG management systems. HBIS hopes to see more Siemens new technologies, new products and new solutions to assist HBIS to further reform.

Siemens executives agree with Yu Yong opinion over intelligent, digital and green technologies in steel industry and expect deeper cooperation in future. They agreed with Yu Yong understanding to the status of steel industry and its future high quality development, the Chinese steel industry was improving to higher performance products, rather than huge volumes. The Chinese steel is also shift to provide other materials to implement recycled economies and share the value of green and low carbon technologies.

Siemens executives said that digital technologies were vital in the reform of Chinese steel industry and the joint efforts were needed in the process. The applications of those technologies need pioneering edge computing technology, data connection capability as a basic and in equal status, the landing of digital technology needs to be integrated with the processes and scenario of all walks of life. So, for any individual enterprise, it is very hard to complete its digitized reform and innovation and sharing could help. Siemens is willing to work with HBIS enhance the digital reform of steel industry. Siemens owns great technologies and HBIS owns great steel making capabilities and industrial application visions that give Siemens technologies opportunities to fulfill their values. This is exactly what mutual cooperation is for. In future, Siemens and HBIS will deepen both cooperation and comprehensively perform digitize projects and merge the digital technologies and actual industry applications, a brand new stage of cooperation.

Siemens executives said that its SiGreen package could collect the carbon footprint, precisely calculate, share and query the results of all products. Base on SiGreen, an enterprise could give a transparent carbon footprint along the whole production chain and find precised solutions to reduce their carbon consumption. Siemens also sees great opportunities in the recycled applications of steel products and is dedicated to sustain and improve the value of steel products in recycling process. HBIS is one of the world’s largest of steel producer and owns its own special understanding and concepts to the digital reform, green & low carbon efforts. Siemens is honored to be a closed partner of such an enterprise and they should deepen their strategic partnership by enhancing their cooperation in digital technologies, carbon reduction and increasing the recycling of steel materials. They could also explore more opportunities to promote intelligent, digital manufacturing and green reform of the industry.
